You’ve learned the basics, you’ve practiced for free, and you know how to spot a scam. Now comes the million-dollar question: «What do I actually buy first?»
In the «Guerrilla» world, we don’t gamble. We build foundations. Today, we’re going to talk about why your first step should almost always be **Bitcoin**, and why everything else (Altcoins) is a different game entirely.
1. The Digital Gold Standard
Think of Bitcoin as the gold in your bunker. It’s limited (only 21 million will ever exist), it’s decentralized (no government can turn it off), and it’s the most secure network on the planet.
* **Guerrilla Tip:** When you start, you want stability and security. Bitcoin is the «savings account» of the crypto world.
2. Bitcoin vs. Altcoins (The Jungle)
Ethereum, Solana, Cardano… there are thousands of «Altcoins.» Some are great technologies, but many are just experiments or hype.
* **The Reality:** Most Altcoins lose value against Bitcoin over the long term. If you are a beginner, don’t get distracted by «the next big thing.» Focus on the thing that has already survived for 15 years.
3. The «DCA» Strategy (Dollar Cost Averaging)
Don’t try to time the market. Don’t wait for the «perfect» price.
* **The Strategy:** Buy a small amount regularly (weekly or monthly), regardless of the price. This lowers your risk and builds your position steadily. In the bunker, we value consistency over luck.
4. Self-Custody is Non-Negotiable
Remember: «Not your keys, not your coins.» If you buy Bitcoin on an exchange and leave it there, you don’t own it.
* **Action:** Once you have a significant amount, move it to your MetaMask (if using compatible layers) or, better yet, a hardware wallet.
Conclusion: Build your foundation first
Don’t try to run before you can walk. Your goal in Part 5 is to understand that Bitcoin is the anchor of your financial freedom. Once you have a solid foundation in Bitcoin, then—and only then—can you look at other projects.
**What was the first crypto you ever heard of? Was it Bitcoin or something else? Let’s discuss in the comments! In Part 6, we will talk about the «Exit Strategy»: How to know when to take profits. Thanks for the tips, they keep the rotative spinning!**
